SHIP DESERTION

THREE SEAMEN CHARGED Three seamen charged with ship desertion appeared in the City Police Court before Messrs A. J. Haub and A. S. Rankin, justices of the peace, on /Saturday.

Two of the defendants, Ronald Sydney Bail, aged 22, and Mervyn James Kemp, aged 10, were each sentenced to one month’s imprisonment for deserting from the Fort Cadotte at Lyttelton on April 22. Douglas Allan Davies, aged 10. who was charged with deserting from the s.s. Raranga. at Lyttelton, on May 7, was remanded to appear to-day.
