South Canterbury Meeting BIG TOP HURDLES FAVOURITEThe only meeting in the South Island to-day is that of the South Canterbury Jockey Club, which has every reason to expect a sporting and financial success. Dark Arrow, Arctic Circle, and Magnaform will be missing from their respective races, but the fields could stand a further reduction and still be numerically strong. The appearance in the Elloughton Handicap of Prize Ring and Boolamskee, candidates for the Great Northern Hurdles, should add to the interest in the race, in which Lord Dundonald, a candidate for' the Cornwall Handicap at Auckland, will also be a runner. Detain, who will be started in the Tekapo Hurdles, is among those nominated for the Great Northern Hurdles.
