POWER CUT EASED

IMPROVED POSITION IN NORTH ISLAND p.A. WELLINGTON, May 14. All North Island supply authorities have been advised by the Electricity Controller, Mr A. E. Davenport, that the present power cut of 15 per cent, can be reduced to 10 per cent. The Minister of Works, Mr Semple, said to-day that this action had been taken because of the slowly improving hydraulic conditions in the North Island lake watersheds.
