CHOIR SECTION GREEN ISLAND COMPETITIONS The highlight of last night’s Competitions Festival at Green Island was the choir singing. The judge congratulated the conductor, Mr R. W. FlintofT, on the performance. Results: Song and Dance (any age).—Lenore Potbury 1, Margaret Molloy 2. Dance Duo (any age).—June and Shirley Stewart 1. Demi-character Dance (under 12). Dawn Patterson 1. Andre Tobin 2. Vocal Solo with Accompaniment (under 16 years) .—lrene Mason (accompanist, Nola McMullan) 1, Shirley Thompson 2, Diana Sutherland (accompanist, Mary Ritchie) 3. Colleen Hammer and Maureen Mildenhall were highly commended. Senior Choir.—Green Island Musical Society 1. Humorous Recitation (boys 13 to 16). —Colin Campbell i. Alan Stewart 2. Vocal Duet (13 to 16 years) .—Shirley Thompson and Pauline Joyce 1, Irene Mason and Nola McMullan 4. Tap Duo (any age).—June and Shirley Stewart 1. Character Dance (10 and under 13). —Dawn Patterson 1, Andre Tobin 2, Marlene Crosland 3.
Tap Dance (13 and under 16 years). —Yvonne Eustace 1, Loretta Barr 2. Character Sketch (13 to 16 years). —Colin Campbell 1, Velma Lobb 2, Carol Anderson and Shirley Thompson were highly commended. Vocal Solo (any age).—lrene Mason 1, Nola McMullan 2.
