SWEDISH NEUTRALITY
FOREIGN MINISTER’S STATEMENT
Rec. 9.15 p.m. STOCKHOLM, May 12. Sweden would resolutely refuse to join either Eastern or Western blocs and would not accept any commitment which, even indirectly, might involve her in siding with either faction in the event of a conflict, the Swedish Foreign Minister, Dr Osten Unden. told the Swedish Social Democrat Party coherence. Even a Scandinavian military union would be unthinkable from the Swedish viewpoint if it were to become in nractcie merely a regional unit of a wider Western bloc.
