LOCAL RESULTS

The second qualifying round of the Otago Club's Championship was played at Balmacewen on Saturday. The qualifying list was headed by T. B. Ferguson and A. Gibbs, with corresponding rounds of 75—72—147. Other qualifiers are: A. H. Boyd 150, J. N. Lemon 151, J. A. Scouler 151. N. H. North 154, J. H. Randle- 154. F. W. Dixon 155, I. A. McLean 155, P. J. Gill 157, T. C. Tyrrell 158, L. B. Whinam 158, J. F. Byers 159, S. J. Macdonald 159, and W. G. Wight 160. J. A. McCausland and J. W. Mclntosh, wih 162, will play off for last qualifying place. The Stroke Handicap Competition, played in conjunction, resulted in a tie between I. A. McLean 74—4—70, and W. D. McKenzie 80—10—70. Tlie Belleknowes Club Single Bogey Handicap played in two divisions on Saturday afternoon resulted in a win for I. A. Forgie (5), with a card of 1 up. F. Piper (9) all square, and J. L. Anderson (8) 2 down, were next best. In the juniors R. G. Richards (18) was the winner with 1 up. W. N. Evans (11) square, and O. E. Rout (13) 1 down, returned the next best cards. The first round of a Four-ball Knockout was played at Chisholm Park, where J. Sherriff and F. Breeze defeated H. Weir and T. Wyatt 4 and 2. G. Balchin and C. Evans beat D. McKenzie and E. G. Monck 3 and 1. A. Duckworth and R. Millward beat H. Morrow and L. Williams 1 up. L. Gore and G. Hayes beat A. J. Stenhouse and F. Eskpich 4 and 3. A Four-ball Bogey was won by A. Giles and J. Lee 7 up. Good cards were returned by L. Gore and G. Hayes 6 up, S. Whitburn and W. Gallen 6 up. J. Skerrett and F. Breeze 5 up, L. H. Carter and E. Keen 4' up, A. G. Monk and J. L. Brailliwaite 4 up, A. Duckworth and R. Millward 4 up. A Flag Matcli was played by the Juvenile Club. E. A. Sinclair placed the flag in the eighteenth hole, his score being 88—19 —69. The next best cards were: N. R. Clark 89—17—72, D. Ward 95—18 77, and W. Edgar 96—18—78.
