Vice-Regal Yesterday morning; their Excellencies the Governor-General and Lady Freyberg left Government House, Wellington. After a stay at Rotorua, they will arrive at Government House. Auckland, on April 23. They will remain in residence at Auckland for approximately two months. Ministerial The Minister of Works, Mr Semple, will arrivfe in Dunedin to-morrow afternoon and will stay at the City Hotel. He will address a meeting in the Octagon Theatre on Sunday night at 8 o'clock on “ Why I Fight Communism.” The High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, Sir Patrick Duff, will leave Wellington to-day to fulfil engagements in Auckland. He will return to-morrow. Mr Will Appleton, Mayor of Wellington, will leave for the north this morning. Mr W. B. Harris, supervisor of teaching aids in the Education Department and supervisor of the National Film Library, has receiVed a two-years’ appointment in the overseas information secretariat of the information section of the United Nations at Lake Success. Captain R. A. Probert, who has been appointed a junior captain with British Commonwealth Pacific Airlines, is the first New Zealander to become a senior pilot with B.C.P.A. He is aged 26, and his first flights were with the R.N.Z.A.F., which he joined in 1940. After six .years' service flying bombers and transport aircraft in the Pacific, Captain Probert received his discharge with the rank of flight lieutenant and joined the National Airways Corporation.
