BUSY PROGRAMME
LOR6 BEVERIDGE’S VISIT
Lord and Lady Beveridge were entertained by the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr and Mrs Cameron, at a function in the mayoral rooms yesterday morning. In the afternoon they visited Cadbury, Fry, Hudson’s factory, both visitors having expressed a desire to meet New Zealand operatives at work. Last night he took part in the Brains Trust session. conducted by Mr Donald McCullough, question master of the 8.8. C. Brains Trust, from 4YA. To-day, Lord and Lady Beveridge will pay a visit to the Roslyn Woollen Mills, and Lord Beveridge will be the guest of the Oxford Society at lunch. He will later be the guest of Dr D. D. Raphael. Professor of Philosophy at the Otago University, who is a former pupil of Lord Bever'dge. Lord Beveridge will give a de Carle lecture at Allen Hall of Otago University to-night, the subject of his address being “Public and Voluntary Action for Social Advance.” Lord Beveridge has agreed to give a luncheon address to members of the University Club to-morrow. He will be accompanied by Lady Beveridge.
