TRUCKS FROM FRANCE
IMPORTATION TO AUSTRALIA Rec. 1(3 p.m. CANBERRA, Apl. 14. The importation of 10,000 used cars and trucks from France has been approved by the Federal Government. A Melbourne firm has been given a permit to arrange for the import, which will cost about £1.000,000. Advice received by the Government indicates that there will be more trucks than cars in the consignment, and the vehicles, which were manufactured for war purposes, are to be reconditioned for sale in Australia.
