WITHDRAWALS SUSPENDED

BRITAIN'S DOLLAR CREDITS IN CANADA WASHINGTON, Rec. 11 p.m. Apl. 14. It has been learned authoritatively that Canada has informed the British Treasury that as from to-mor-row Britain will not be able to draw upon the unexocnded balance of the 1,250,000,000 dollar credit granted her in 1946. The balance stands at approximately 250,000,000 dollars. Withdrawals will be suspended until further notice. A Canadian source explained to-day that Britain's withdrawals of her Canadian credit had been much faster than contemplated, and had reduced Canada's reserves to a dangerous degree.
