ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

The Association football season will open on Saturday with Oamaru meeting West End at Timaru in the senior competition of the South Canterbury Association. Six senior teams have entered this year, the new club being Thistle, of Timaru. In North Otago there is a possibility of three clubs this season, a likely entry being from the Hydro Club, of Kurow. This new club, with Oamaru and North End, will be eligible to compete for the North End Citizens’ Shield.
