WARM SPELL IN LONDON

Rec. 10 p.m. LONDON, Mar. 10 London yesterday had the warmest. March day on record with a temperature of 74 degrees. A year ago there were icefloes in the Thames Estuarv and it was the coldest March for 162 years. Record temperatures were also recorded yesterday in many parts of England and Wales, where there were almost cloudless skies. Some parts of the country, including London, have had no measurable rain for 15 days or more and are now officially suffering from drought.
