Jottings Withdrawals from the two trotting events on the first day of the Cromwell meeting are due to-day. Withdrawals for the Invercargill meeting are due to-dav. A Bad Last The Australian pacer, Para Derby, finished a bad last in the Wellington Cup. Began Slowly Single Direct failed to make a good beginning in the Wellington Cup and wasi last when the field settled downwinner at Wellington Culture, a winner at Wellington, is a four-year-old by U. Scott from Mac’s Jimmy and is trained by H. Griffin at Ashhurst. Engaged at Cromwell Peccadillo has been placed in several of his races this season and the Dillon Hall five-year-cld looks nicely placed at the Cromwell meeting. He is trained at Mataura by D. Todd, who has his full share of successes at minor meetings Grattan Loyal Gelding Admiral Peterson is a four-year-old by Grattan Loyal from Ivy Peterson, by Rev de Oro from Lady Peterson, by Petereta from Vesta, by Lincoln Yet from a St. Leonard mare. He has won two of his seven races this season and been placed in one of the others. Flying Scott At Wellington on Saturday Flying Scott raced a long way below the form he showed at Forbury Park and was never a possibility. Impressive Performance Worthydale is credited with having given an impressive performance to win the Second Hapuku Handicap at the Kaikoura meeting. His winning margin was about half a furlong and he went 2nun 42sec from a 2.59 mark. A five-year-old gelding by Sandydale, he was get from Te Mona, by Travis Axworthy from Mui'i. After final payments the following horses remain in the New Zealand Trotting Stakes to be decided on the first day of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s Easter meeting at Addington:— Dolcassion Pacing Pegasus. Flying Star, Bessie Grattan, Signal Light, Lucky Ducrow, Dictation, Norma's Pride, Field Maid, Cottesloe, Encircle. Beau Scott.
