Mr and Mrs lan Paterson, of Ashburton, are visitors to Dunedin for the celebrations.

Mr and Mrs David Smith were visitors to Tjmaru for the press conference. Mr and Mrs C. Kirkland, ctf Invercargill, who have been in Dunedira for Carnival Week, have returned home. Mr and Mrs J. S. Shaw, o<[ Christchurch, who were in Dunedin for the races, left on Sunday for their home. Dr Violet Craig Roberton, of Glasgow, is the guest of Mrs W. K. C.ameron, of Melville street.

Mrs Eric Vaughn, of Christchurch, who was the guest of Mrs j. Blair, of Outram, left on Sunday for her home, Mrs W. Simes, of Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs L. M. Wright, of Sunshine. Miss Gertrude Macdonnld, of Invercargill, is the guest of Mrs 1 Pieter Schoon.

Mrs G. Feldgate Penliugton, of Karori, Wellington, is the guest cif Miss Mary Anderson, of Albert street.. Mr and Mrs E. C. Molletr, who have been the 'guests of Mrs E. If. Moller, of Pitt street, returned to Ashburton on Sunday. Mrs Leslie Bullock wifll leave Dunedin on Thursday to take up residence in Wellington. Mrs N. H. Barlow, wlio has been staying at the City Hotel, has returned to Christchurch.

Mrs C. C. Hartland, who was a guest at the City Hotel for the traces, has returned to Christchurch.

Flight Lieutenant J. 3W. S. Boss and Mrs Ross are the guests of Mr and Mrs J. Sutherland Ross, of “ BraomhOl.” Roslyn. Miss Sbirley Macleod left on Saturday for Wellington, where she has been transferred to the head office of the Bank of New Zeadand.

Miss Maureen Hill, who has been the guest at several parties, will leave New Zealand by the Arawa for .South Africa on March 10. While oversees she hopes to visit Austria.

Smith, who has been on the staff of the Waimate Public Hospital for the cast 18 months, left Dunedin today to tSike up a postion oil the staff of the public hospital, Napier, Mr and. Mrs J. H. Gilkison left on Sunday for the north. Mrs Gilkison intends to spend several months in Australia, and Mr Gilkjson will leave for Enjgland by the Empire Star. Mrs Eric Williams, Pitt straet, was hostess in the week-end to a number of fifiends of Mrs Dora Watt, who left Duneiflin yesterday by car on the first stage off an extended visit to England. Mrs Watt will sail by the Akajraa from Auckland later in the present month. Mrs R. H. Stevenson, o| Alton avenue, gave a 5 o’clock party on Friday in honour of Commander Unlock. The guests' were those interested in his work on behalf of the Overseas League in New Zealand. Mrs Richard Hudson, president of the Dunedin Repertory Society, .entertained the executive, producer, management staff, and the cast of " Quiet Week Ekid ” at her home after the final performance on Friday night. Mr and Mrs S.. G. Holland were guests of honour. The guest-speaker at the meeting of the Dunedin Travel Club on Wednesday morning will be Mrs R. T. Tosswiyl, of the Canterbury Travel Club. She will speak on a visit to the East. The hostesses will be Mrs W. H. Tucker and Mirs R. W. Hardie.

Mrs W. H. Elliott, Dominion president of the Women's Division, Federated Farmers, is travelling to Timaru to attend an interprovincial conference and to Auckland to officially open " Scotlands," the latest addition to the W.D.F.F. chain of rest homes.

Commander D. C. Kinloch, EfcS.O., 0.8. E., of London, development secretary of. the Overseas League, was host at the City Hotel last evening, when he< entertained members of the Dunedin branch of the league, representatives of kiiadred organisations, and friends, prior tp his departure for Wellington to-day. He said that he hopes to revisit Dunediri for a brief holiday before returning to England.
