Attempts to Derail Train
P.A. AUCKLAND, Feb. 29. In two separate attempts to derail traffic, four steel fishplates and a sleeper were placed on the r main south railway line at Purewa tunnel, about four miles from Auckland Station, on Friday night. _ The plot was thwarted by the watchfulness of the crews on ?, trains passing on the inward track, • and they were responsbile for the - obstruction being removed before an accident occurred.
