CORFU CHANNEL INCIDENT COMPENSATION FROM ALBANIA THE HAGUE, Feb. 27. Britain’s case, against Albania, arising from the Corfu Channel incident in October, 1946, has opened in the International Court of Justice. Britain is demanding £50,000 compensation for the deaths of 44 British sailors and the wounding of 42 others when two destroyers were mined in the channel. , , , ~ Seven legal experts, headed by the Attorney-general, Sir Hartley Shawcross, represent Britain. Fifteen judges, including Britain’s Sir Arnold Duncan McNair, are hearing the case, which is the first to come before the court established under the United Nations.
