VINCENT HOSPITALS
The monthly meeting of the Vincent Hospital Board was attended by Messrs R. E. F. Butcher (chairman), W. Bringans. J. Swann, G. Wishart, E. J.'Naylor, and R. Tohill. Mr W. D. Naylor was granted leave of absence. The board decided to make a further approach t° the Department of Health with a view to obtaining authority to assume an equal share with the Maniototo Hospital Board of the liability for the arrears and future instalments on the loan of £2OOO raised by the Vincent County Council in 1923 for the building of a doctor's residence at Lauder. In the past, the council had been reimbursed its annual payments on the loan by the Lauder Combined Medical Club which was now out of existence.
Hospital statistics for the month of January.—Dunstan Hospital: Admitted 40, discharged 34, deaths 2, remaining at end of month 18; 28 out-patient attendances and 26 out-patient x-ray examinations for the month. Cromwell Hospital: Admitted 77, discharged 73, remaining at the end of the month 21; 108 out-patient attendances and 21 out-patient x-ray examinations. The treasurer’s financial statement for the 10 months ended January 31 showed that the maintenance account debit was £2036 8s 5d and the capital account credit £573 9s lid. Accounts, salaries and wages totalling £lBOl 9s 9d were passed for payment. ; ' _
