Sir,—l think Mr Mark Silverstone would be well advised to pipe down in regard to the running of this city and who pays for it. When he was on the Finance Committee of the City Council he managed the finances in such a way that he at last resorted to levying a tax on hose taps in order to get money. We have not forgotten that. Another thing I want to say to Mr Silverstone is this: People are well off to-day in regard to wages, and if it were not for the Communistic crowd everlastingly harping on people’s supposed grievances, and pointing out where they have been wronged, we would have more peace and harmony in this world.
