BRITISH WAR MEDALS

NO NAMES TO BE INSCRIBED Rec. 8 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 22

There will be no names inscribed on the millions of 1939-45 War Medals which the British Government is expected to issue this year to everyone with 28 days or more service in the forces or Home Guard and civil defence. This is contrary to tradition, but the national economic position is the reason for the decision. The Government will save a few pence on eacl.' medal, but because so many are being issued the saving is considered to be worth while.
