REV. J. M. SIMPSON The death has occurred of the Rev. During his retirement he served as locum tenens in a number of vacant charges the last being Roslyn when the Rev. H. A. Mitchell was absent on W was a very effective parish minister, being an assiduous visitor. He took a keen interest in the affairs of the community, and by his friendly, jovial manner won the confidence of a very wide circle of people. He was a stirring preacher, and by his strong evangelical appeal drew large congregations to his services. . Mr Simpson is survived by one brother, John, who still resides at his native place of Drumfin, and by four sons —ian. of North Auckland, Calvert, of Auckland, and Douglas and Frank, of Dunedin.
