PROMPT DECISION

RETRIAL OF RAPE CHARGE ACCUSED FOUND NOT GUILTY P.A. WELLINGTON. Feb. 11. After a retirement of little more than two hours, including the luncheon adjournment, a Supreme Court jury found Edgar Cornelius Wadham, a farmer, aged 59, not guilty on a charge of rape of a 17-years-old girl near Masterton. A jury last week had failed to agree upon a verdict. Mr Justice Fair was on the bench during the retrial. The Crown case was led by Mr W. H. Cunningham, and Mr G. C. Kent appeared for the accused.
