CRICKET ASSOCIATION
Fortnightly Meeting
Mr W. M. Uttley was in the chair at the fortnightly meeting of the North Otago Cricket Association on Monday night. Mr Uttley reported on the recent junior representative game against the Waitaki Sub-association. The match was enjoyed by both sides, he said, and Waitaki Sub-association players would be eligible for selection in any North Otago side.
Because of the large number of representative matches still to be played this season, it was decided to play the next round of the senior competition as oneday matches, commencing at 10.30 a.m. It was agreed that the first game in this series commence on Saturday.
It was decided to combine the Junior and Third Grades in one competition for the remainder of the season, because of the small number of teams in each grade. Arrangements were made for the senior and junior representative matches against South Canterbury at Timaru. and the senior representative game against the Waihemo Sub-association at Oamaru, on February 21.
The Otago Cricket Association advised that Country Week would be held on March 10, 11, and 12, and delegates were instructed to ascertain the number of players' who would be available for selection.
1 A motion thanking the Waitaki Boys High School for fielding a team in the senior competition was placed on record.
