GOVERNOR-GENERAL’S VISIT

The Mayor, Mr M. F. E. Cooney reported to the Borough Council last night that the Governor-General, Sir Bernard Freyberg, V.C., and Lady Freyberg would visit Oamaru on February 19 and 20. On the evening Of February 19 the Governor-General would be entertained by the Oamaru R.S.A., and Lady Freyberg by the North Otago Women’s Club. On February 20 the vice-regal party would visit Victoria Home and the hospital during the morning, and a civic reception would take place in the Gardens at noon. Luncheon would be held at the Queen’s Hotel at 1 o’clock, and Sir Bernard and Lady Freyberg would leave Oamaru at 2.
