FIVE POINTS FOR GRANGE The feature of the second day’s play in the game between Grange and University at the University Oval, in which Grange had scored 322 for four wickets, declared, was the performance of R. T. Hunt, who made 38 and 82. His second strike was a fluent, free-hitting display, which occupied 57 minutes, including two 6’s and eight 4’s. . , University batted all afternoon, making 198 in its first innings, of which V. A. C. McArley contributed 48, and, following on. compiled 138 runs for the loss of five wickets. At one stage in the 4 second innings four wickets were down for 37, and the students’ position looked grim, but Hunt and D. S. Coombs "stayed together until 5.30, when rain and the poor light caused stumps to be drawn. Grange thus registered a five-point win, Bowling for Grange, A. Moir took five wickets for 57 with his right-hand slow deliveries. However, his good average was ruined in University’s second innings, when his figures were two for 69.
