MONTHLY MEETING Mr A. Nuttall was in the chair at the monthly meeting of the Oamaru Garrison Band on Thursday night. The Nortli Oamaru Carnival Committee, the Oamaru Boating Club, and the Oamaru National Party wrote expressing appreciation ot the band’s services at their respective functions, and Mr R. J- Estall thanked the band for its message of congratulation on the occasion of his golden jubilee as a member of the Woolston Brass Band. The resignation of Bandsman T. Mr Nuttall informed members that arrangements were being made for a concert to be given in the Opera House on March 21, the proceeds of which would be devoted to forwarding a consignment of parcels of food to a band in Coventry, the city which Oamaru had adopted in the "Aid to Britain ” campaign.
