NO “HOMIES” WANTED
Sir,—Your correspondent signs herself “ True Kiwi." Now, how is it that when anyone writes an offensive letter against England they almost always (almost without exception) sign themselves “ true ” Kiwi or " true ” New Zealander? Does this word " true ” mean that you are not a true New Zealander unless you are belittling England and the English? If this is not so, then how does it always come into a controversy on that subject? " True Kiwi" said she watched with “ great interest ” the many replies to her letter; does the “great" interest imply that she expected letters to back her up in her arrogant speech? The passage, “ Once bitten, twice shy,” is an exceedingly sweeping remark considering she was only bitten once. Why, I have been bitten a good few times and not by “Homies" either. Then, on the other hand we have only heard one .side (“Trite Kiwi’s” side), and I am inclined to think, judging by the letter she published, that he had good reason for biting, or shall I say jilting her? It might have been that it was, very fortunate for him that he bit before It W perhaps la “ e True Kiwi” will write and tell us all about It, and then perhaps we would sympathise with her, and agree mat he was a horrid man Your correspondent “ Scotch Born and Bred says there is good and bad in all of us. Smely there is a tiny bit of bad in True Kiwi." too.-l saint Either. [Subject to " True Kiwi ", exercising the right of reply if desired, this correspondence is closed.—Ed,, 0.D.T.3
