WANGANUI’ TOURNAMENT P-A. WANGANUI, Jan. 2. More than 170 entries have been receiv' ’ for the Wanganui New Year tennis tourney, which is now in its second day. Seeded players in the Men’s Singles, who have been eliminated were J. W. Neale (Wellington), C. Sheerin (Manawatu), J. C. Charteris (Hawke’s Bay) and J. A. Cook and P. Ogier (Wanganui). In the women’s semi-finals to-day, Miss T. Greaves (Wanganui) will play Miss Coull (Wellington). In the other semi-final Miss Smith will play the winner of the match between Mrs Bell (Taranaki) and Miss Brownie. The tourney is expected to last until next Tuesday. In the Men’s Singles, 91 entries were received.
