SHIPMENTS TO CONTINUE “ GENTLEMEN’S AGREEMENT ” WITH BRITAIN Rec. 8 p.m. BUENOS AIRES, Jan. 1. Diplomatic quarters learned to-night that the Argentine Government has agreed to continue meat shipments to Britain under a “ gentlemen’s agreement ” pending the conclusion of trade talks between the two countries. The Argentine Government had ordered all meat shipments to Britain halted by January 7 because it considered a previous contract voided by the British action of making sterling unconvertible.
