FAIR AND WARM The official weather forecast covering the ensuing 24 hours, which was issued yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington, is:— ,< Situation.—An intense anticyclone lies east of New Zealand, and a lowpressure trough in the Tasman Sea is moving slowly eastwards. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Mode-rate to strong north-westerly winds inland, but north-easterly near the coast. Morning fog or low cloud, but weather otherwise fair and warm. Further Outlook. showers.
Weather in Dunedin.—Dunedin enjoyed 13 hours 24 minutes of sunshine yesterday, and the. maximum temperature was only 73.0 degrees. A fresh breeze from the north prevailed. The minimum temperature was 63.5 degrees, and the grass minimum 62.5 degrees. There was no rain. After falling slightly during the afternoon, the barometric pressure rose in the ' evening, the midnight reading being 30.2 inches (1023 millibars).
