Heavy Rain Welcome

Although the heavy rainfall throughout Central Otago came too late, to benefit all crops, it will afford immeasurable relief to pastures and those crops which were not ruined by the drought. The harvesting of turnip and swede crops for seed was interrupted by the' rain. Excellent yields are indicated from the crops, particularly turnips, in South Otago, but the crops in Central Otago ripened a little too quickly as a result of the hot weather.
