WORLD HEAVY-WEIGHT TITLE “JERSEY.JOE” WALCOTT NAMED WASHINGTON, Dec. 29. The National Boxing Association's end-of-year ratings rank “Jerse - Joe" Walgott as the only logical contender for the heavy-weight championship,
held by Joe Louis. Other rankings are:
Light heavy-weight champion, Gus Lesnevich; logical contenders—Ezzard Charles, Archie More and Bill Fox. Middle-weight champion, Rocky Graziano; logical contenders—Marcel Cerdan, Tony Zale, Tommy Yarosz and Jake Lamotta.
Welter-weight champion, Ray Robinson; logical contenders—none.
Light-weight champion, Ike Williams; logical contenders—Enrique
Bolanos and Gene Burton. Feather-weight champion, Willy Pep; logical contenders—Charles Riley, Humberto Sierra, Joe Saddler and Carlos Chvez.
Bantam-weight champion, Manuel Ortiz; logical contenders—Pete Kahe, Manny Ortega, Dave Young and Harold Dade.
