LONDON’S CROWDS HUSHED Rec. 1 a.m. LONDON, Nov. 20. England’s future Queen left her parents’ home this morning a few minutes after Philip Mountbatten set out from Kensington Palace, three miles away. Less than two hours later she returned to Buckingham Palace a married woman. For a memorable moment one of the greatest crowds London has ever known was quiet as Philip placed Elizabeth’s Welsh gold wedding ring on her finger and the Archbishop of Canterbury pronounced the solemn words uniting them.
