AMENDMENT LOST

WORKERS’ COMPENSATION BILL Parliamentary Reporter WELLINGTON, Nov. 21. An Opposition amendment designed to have the premium rates under the Workers’ Compensation Amendment Bill fixed by a tribunal consisting of the judge of the Compensation Court, the general manager of the State Fire Office, the Government actuary, and a representative of the New Zealand Employers’ Association, instead of by an Order-in-Council as provided for in the Bill, was defeated in the House of Representatives to-day. Several other amendments moved by the Opposition were all lost, and the Bill was passed.
