SOVIET SEEKS DISSOLUTION AMERICA OPPOSES “CHANGES BY VIOLENCE” Rec. 10 p.m. NEW YORK, Nov. 11. The United States opposed to-day a demand by the Soviet bloc that the United Nations take all possible economic action to cause the fall of the Franco regime. Mr Charles Fahy told the Political Committee that the United States was against any action which would, initiate a change by violence. The Spanish people, "in due time and in their own way would take steps to regain their place in the family of nations. The committee was debating a Polish resolution for complete or partial economic sanctions against Spain Mr Andrei Gromyko (Soviet), supporting the resolution, said that although the United States and Britain had recalled their Ambassadors from Madrid, relations with Spain had become more cordial and trade between the three nations had grown. , After Canada, the Netherlands, Mexico, and Chile had opposed the Polish resolution, the committee appointed a sub-committee to endeavour to co-ordinate various proposals which had been submitted on the.
