CAR LEAVES ROAD TWO WOMEN INJURED Two members of a family of Australian visitors staying in Dunedin were injured when the car in which they were travelling towards the city on Signal Hill road careered down the hillside through gorse, broom, and scrub for over 100 yards shortly after 2 p.m. on Saturday. Those injured were:— Mrs Florence Russell, head Injuries and shock. Miss Lola Russell, a fractured jaw, abrasions and shock. The car was driven by Mrs Ellen Longmore, of 1 Queen street, Dunedin, and other passengers were Mr Adrian Russell, his wife, Mrs Florence Russell, his two daughters, the Misses Yvonne and Lola Russell, and his son, Geoffrey Russell. All the occupants of the car received hospital treatment for cuts and bruises except Geoffrey Russell, but only Mrs Russell and Miss Lola Russell were admitted. The Russell family come from Australia, and were staying at. Wain’s Hotel. The car apparently got out of control while travelling down the road about half a mile from the Opoho tram terminus, and was extensively damaged. It rolled over at least once in its course down the paddock, and came to rest on its wheels, facing in the opposite direction from that which it had been going when it left the road.
