MEN’S SOFTBALL

DIVISION RESULTS The Otago Men’s Softball Association’s club competition was continued on Saturday' under excellent _ conditions. Following are the results in both divisions. Matches in the first division were played at Hancock Park, where Sargood’s Dynamos defeated Hillside Dodgers 23 6. Hillside Dodgers won their second game of the afternoon by defeating Cardinals I 23—12. The Bears gained their first victory of the season when they beat the newly-formed 2nd N.Z.E.F. Club 24—6. Training College No. 1 team defeated Sargood’s Dynamos in a practice game at De Carle Park 12—9. The leaders in the division are Hillside Dodgers, Sargood’s Dynamos, and Hillside Red Sox. In the second division, played at Culling Park, Cardinals II suffered their first defeat at the hands of the Hawks Club, the final score being Hawks 23, Cardinals II 20. Hillside Demons registered their first win of the season when they beat the 2nd N.Z.E.F. second team by 35 runs to 33, while the promising young Training College side were too good for the A.T.C. Club by 36 runs to 26. Hawks and Training College are the leaders in the second division. Umpires for the afternoon’s games were Messrs Stephens, Mercer. Mann, Fairley, Rowley, McMillan, Woods, and Birtles.
