November 11, at 7.30 p.m. The camps during the week-end were well attehded, 65 being in camp at Maruakoa. On Sunday afternoon a large num-ber-of parents and friends visited Meruakoa and had afternoon tea with the scouts. District headquarters also camped at Maruakoa and Commissioner Widdowson reports that there has been a big improvement in all troops in the standard of camping. It was pleasing to note that a number of committees had provided additional camping equipment for their troops, but still more cooking gear was required. Scouts who recently returned from the world jamboree contributed greatly to entertainments at combined council fires. Lone Scouts Peter Hotop (Hampden) and Max Lory (Windsor) were in camp for the first time.
