COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES

p.A. WELLINGTON, Oct. 31. The Legislative Council Select Committee to confer with the committee from the House of Representatives on the desirability of making the House of Representatives the sole legislative chamber or, alternatively, the desirability or otherwise of establishing a revising body for legislation passed by the House of Representatives was named to-day when the leader of the council, Mr Wilson, gave notice that he would move the appointment of the committee on the next sitting day. The committee Will be as follows: — The Speaker, Mr Fagan. Sir William Perry and Messrs Wilson, Bishop, Bloodworth, Brindle, Connelly, Duncan, Eddy, Grounds, Martin, Paul and Roberts. The Legislative Council also appointed Messrs Connelly, Bishop and Grounds as managers to confer with managers appointed by the House of Representatives on the amendments made by the council to the Riccarton Bush Amendment Bill.
