Sir, —I have received a circular by post from the Rating on Unimproved Value Association. One of the most intriguing parts is the trip up Thames street. It looks like a temperature chart of a patient suffering a terrible dose of ’flu, with complications. A close study of Block 95 from the Post Office to Dalgety’s shows that only five or six owners did not receive an increased rate demand as compared/with the previous year. Will Mr D. Stewart, the chairman, or Mr D. Bain, the secretary, give us the names of these businesses and their view of the valuer’s action in these cases.—l am, etc., Oamaru. October 30. This Farce.
