“Bowlers visiting Dunedin for the New Zealand Championships next year would appreciate more of these oneday tournaments,” said the president, Mr W. Johnston, at the monthly meeting of the Dunedin Bowling Centre on Saturday night. Applications to hold one-day tournaments were granted to the Port Chalmers Club (January 17) and Taieri Club (April 10 or 17). / Letters were received from the Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch Centres advising that neither the clubs concerned nor the centres were paid for bowl-testing, although the centres supplied certain apparatus-. The Christchurch Centre suggested that the bowl tester should pay 3d to the centre and club for each set of bowls tested.
The representative of the Dunedin Club,-which raised the point at the last meeting, was instructed to report back to his club.
Mr E. Longworth thanked the president and his deputies for the way in which they had visited clubs on their opening days. Two clubs had held their openings on September 27, seven on October 4 and 13 on October 1L he said.
