DELETION OE CLAUSE SOUGHT P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 10. ' A meeting of more than 120 members of the New Zealand General Insurance Workers’ Union in Christchurch today decided to ask the Government to delete the clause from the Bill on the grounds that the contents of the Bill had not been referred to the union, and no opportunity had beer; given to it to examine and present a suitable scheme by which the best interests of the workers cßuld be served by qualified experts with years of experience. The meeting also decided to ask for immediate steps to be taken for the early signing of a petition by members of the union throughput New Zealand asking for the deletion of the State monopoly clause. It was suggested that the petition be presented to Parliament by a member of Parliament selected by the National, Executive Council.
