HOGAN WINS INTERNATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

•Rec. 11 p.m. NEW YORK. Sept. 28 With nine under par for 135, Ben Hogan to-day won the international winner-take-all golf tournament organised by Mr George S. May. Hogan closed the 36-hole event with a two under par 70, finishing three strokes ahead of Bobby Locke (South Africa). In addition to the 5000 dollars’ cash prize, Hogan collected 2000 dollars appearance money, which May guaranteed each of the eight starters. Hogan, with 27,310 dollars, now tops the golf money-winners for 1947. Lloyd Mangrum and Jimmy Demaret tied for third place with 139.
