WOOL RESERVE PRICE
The question uppermost in the minds of woolgrowers was the reserve price for the coming season; and the contributory charge in respect to the net return, said Mr N. R. Jameson, chairman of the New Zealand Wool Board, at the annual meeting. While the actual price had not been published it has been intimated that the price level would be the same as last year, an over-all average of 16.74 d. There would, however, be some minor changes in the price of types of wool. Australia would receive an increase of about 9 per cent, and South Africa one of 8 per cent. Fine wools were still receiving the , highest prices everywhere, which was but natural after the war. That would also happen in New Zealand again, and 60’s and over would probably receive an increase. Counts below that would receive reduced increases, until for 50’s and under there would be but a barely appreciable rise. The over-all average, however, would hardly alter.
