JUDGING COMPLETED ROSE BOWL CONTEST WON BY MISS YVONNE HILL Judging in the various sections of the Dunedin Competitions Society’s annual festival 1 was completed yesterday, and the first of three demonstration concerts was held in His Majesty’s Theatre at night, when an entertaining and varied programme was presented, Mr E. D. Smyth being in the chair. Each of the six vocalists who had qualified to compete in the Rose Bowl contest appeared, and the judge of the vocal section, Mr Stanley Oliver, of Wellington, announced at the end of the programme that he had made the award to Miss Yvonne Hill, of Dunedin. Mr Oliver stated that there had been a close contest between three competitors, and that it was the perfect diction of the winner that had been the determining factor. The chief piano solo contest was won by Mr lan Harvey, of Dunedin.
