INSTALLATION IN AUSTRALIA REPARATIONS FROM GERMANY Rec. 8 p.m. CANBERRA, Sept. 5. Australia has obtained from Germany as part of her war reparations one of the three largest forging presses in the world. It will be installed in the Newcastle Steelworks, where it will forge ships’ crankshafts, highpressure boilers, large guns. 130-ton ingots and other huge pieces of metal. Parts of the press, which comprises 14 pieces, including five each weighing 110 tons, have already arrived in Australia. It was originally used in Dusseldorf for the manufacture of heavy naval guns.
