MASS ESCAPE PLANNED

Rec. 8 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 3. The Gestapo and S.S. men, who were sentenced to death for murdering the airmen who escaped from Stalag Luft 111, themselves planned a mass escape while awaiting trial, says the Daily Mail. Alternatively they planned suicide. The British authorities discovered the plot when they found a woman friend of one prisoner being smuggled into the prison.
