A SECOND SKELETON
MYSTERY IN YORKSHIRE POLICE CORDON OFF AREA N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent Rcc. 8 p.m. LONDON. Sept. 2. The discovery of the skeleton of a second man buried in a cave close to that in which a skeleton was recently discovered on the slopes of Ingleborough Hill, Yorkshire, has been reported. This discovery was also made by trampers. The bones were seen prior to the discovery of the first skeleton, but were not reported, as they were thought to be those of an animal. On reading reports of the discovery of the first skeleton, however, two men returned to the cavern and brought back a leg bone for identification. Both skeletons were found in passages which form part of the famous “gaping hole,” a series of underground caverns. The second skeleton was lying at the foot of a 360-feet shaft. The police have now cordoned off the whole area.
' A message received on August 27 stated that two men exploring the slopes on Ingleborough Hill, on the Yorkshire Fells, discovered the skeleton of a young man walled up in a cave.
