PROSPECTS FOR AVONDALE NANCY VAALS IMPRESSES Special to the Daily Times AUCKLAND, Sept. 2. There was a good deal of activity at Ellerslie yesterday and several horses drew attention to their Avondale prospects. Nancy Vaals did the fastest three furlongs, Golden Beau and Hunters Lass recorded a smart half-mile. Flying Robin pleased over six furlongs, and Coogee did a solid round, being accompanied by Dougal over the final five furlongs. The No. 2 grass, with the poles five Feet out. was used for galloping, and the going was heavy. Nancy Vaals showed pace over three furlongs in 38 3-ssec. Regal Charm (Messervy) hit out boldly over three furlongs in 41sec. She is one of the most forward of the Ellerslie two-year-olds Beau Pari and Supervision did half a mile in 56 2-ssec. Supervision is improving. Beau Pari is becoming more solid. Yendarra and Shadow Camp were together at the conclusion of four furlongs in 54 2- Shadow Cpmp is a half brother to the brilliant Hunting Camp. Broiealice concluded half a mile in 53 2-ssec. Hunters’ Lass (Green) and Golden Beau sprinted four furlongs in 52sec. Hunter’s Lass finished slightly in front of Golden Beau. Master Coronach went smoothly throughout five furlongs In lmin lOsec, and ran the final three in 42 2-ssec Duke Royal (Hughes) and Flying Robin (Bagby) galloped six furlongs in lmin 20 l-ssec, Flying Robin leading over the three in 38 3- and finishing slightly the better. Coogee gallopted a round in lmin 47 2-ssec, the last five furlongs in company with Dougal in lmin 9sec. Coogee and Dougal are in solid condition and worked attractively. British • Mint and Ostentatious did a round of the hurdles, British Mint outjumping his companion.
