WINGATUI TRACK WORK

PREPARING FOR SATURDAY As the result of rain the previous day the tracks at Wingatui were on the heavy side yesterday, and naturally the times recorded were not fast. Provided there is no further rain, however, the race track will be in splendid order for Saturday's meeting. W. Hancock paired Air Ace and Slick on the sand and they travelled well within themselves over four furlongs in 55sec. Triumphal came home the last seven furlongs of a strong working gallop in lmin 36sec. Joygiver. looking well, was given strong work over a circuit without being sent against the watch. He will lack nothing on the score of condition for the Tally-Ho Handicap. Fine Night was sent over a mile and aquarter but was asked to stretch out only over the last furlong. Real Raid was given a similar task. Rubble had Pestee as a mate in a fivefurlong gallop in lmin 9sec, with Rubble shaping the better of the two. Quadrille, Knight Crusader, and Paramour were worked on the grass and covered the first four of seven furlongs in 54sec, the full journey taking lmin 36 3-ssec, with Quadrille sthading Knight Crusader and Paramour beaten off. On the same track Helampago and Kildare had recorded 54sec for half a mile. Penny Nap, who is by Cardsharper, gave a good display over nine fences after having been carried of! by Rolance at the fourth.
