KILLED BY MOB
PRIEST IN VENEZIA-GIULIA ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED Rec. 10 pm. ROME, Aug. 25. A Slovene, mob attacked and killed a Yugoslav priest, Father Miro Busselich. in Lanische. in the Yugoslavoccupied zone of Venezia Giulia, according to an ANSA despatch from Trieste. The mob attacked and inflicted serious injuries on the Vatican Prelate, Father Giacomo Ukmar, who went to the Istrian Peninsula to confirm Catholic children. Hostile manifestations recently prevented the Bishop of Trieste from carrying out these ceremonies. The mob decapitated Father Buselich with a knife when he tried to shield Father Ukmar. The Trieste newspaper La Voce Libera, said that Father Buselich was attacked with sickles and “ literallv slaughtered.”- Father Ukmar was thrown down and trampled upon, suffering a fractured skull and kidney wounds. The newspaper added that the mutilated body of a third priest, identified as Father Kristian, parish Driest of Golazzo, in Istria, who disappeared during the week, was found in a wood. His body bore marks of “ horrible torture.”
